Very dangerous avalanche conditions. We recommend that inexperienced skiers enjoy themselves in the ski resorts. If you do so, do not enter the closed areas. It is for your safety and at the same time important for the safety of other visitors. In the mountains, we are in a situation where very large avalanches can occur. Think carefully about whether there is a large start zone above you. Even if you are at a lower elevation, this is a very important perspective. Be conservative in your route setting and follow a principled course of action. The gully in the Below Treeline is not yet completely filled. Consider that there are holes hidden under the fresh snow and act accordingly.
Yesterday (January 7), several size 1 loose snow avalanches caused by ski cuts were observed in very steep terrain.
Snowfall since the night of January 6 has reached 60-70 cm in the upper treeline. The snowfall has been intermittently interspersed with areas of weak bonding within the fresh snow, which can lead to avalanches. Melt-Freeze crusts are also forming on sun-exposed surfaces, providing a good bed surface for large avalanches. Even if the bonding conditions seemed "not too bad" yesterday, there is a very large load on it today. Do not rely on yesterday's judgment.
