Travel and Terrain Advice

This is a day of increasing avalanche danger as the weather worsens. Be on the lookout for storm slabs formed by westerly winds. Be on the lookout for "terrain traps" lower down the slope where avalanches can have small but deadly consequences. Snow in the below treeline is still light, lower branches of trees are hidden by fresh snow, and holes in stream bottoms are open. Careful terrain selection and proper group management are very important.
