Travel and Terrain Advice

At higher elevations, keep an eye out for bonding wind slabs on extreme steep slopes just below the ridge and branch ridges. Snow surfaces are expected to be frozen at elevations affected by rain. Be careful of slides. There are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep streams, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the avalanche that occurs is small. Be careful of falling into gully. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting snowfall. Please pay attention to the amount of snowfall and winds in the future.

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches reported yesterday (19th)

Snowpack

Snowfall from past stormy weather has been settling and bonding inside the snowpack is rising. Snow surfaces affected by the recent rainfall are expected to be frozen. Wind slabs are forming on the ridge line and just below the ridge, but bonding is not bad.

Weather

As of 7:00, the temperature at Amedas Fujiwara is 0.3°C. No snowfall in the past 24 hours. Snow accumulation is progressively settling. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting cloudy skies and snow in the foothills of northern Gunma Prefecture due to the effects of a pressure trough and moist air.
