Travel and Terrain Advice

Yesterday, there were reports of human-triggered small avalanches on extremely steep, large slope changes. Watch for bonding of large extreme steep storm slabs that will increase the size of avalanches that occur. Sunny skies are forecast during the day. Be aware of solar radiation and the possibility of loose snow avalanches from large, southerly steep slopes that are sensitive to the sun. There are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep gullies, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the avalanche is small. Be careful of falling into gully and stepping through snow cover.
