Below Treeline Fair Only the upper part where there was snowfall
信頼度:○ good □ Fair △ Low
This is a day with a mix of slopes that are stiff and hard due to the cooler temperatures and slabs that have formed from some snowfall yesterday and are not yet stable enough. When making ski cuts, be sure to assess the terrain carefully. There have been accidents in the past where people have gotten caught on hard surfaces below the slab and slipped. Consider whether there are any "terrain traps" below the slope where even a small avalanche could have serious consequences.
Below treeline is only the upper part. Check the bonding condition of the boundary between new and old snow.
Shooting cracks were reported yesterday (1st) Below Treeline. No avalanches were reported.
Yesterday, as of the morning, there was light snowfall and rainfall under high temperatures, but temperatures dropped rapidly and winds picked up around noon. As of yesterday, there was 10-20 cm of new snow in the upper treeline, creating shooting cracks. Snowfall stopped during the night and winds have weakened.
Today, the area will be covered by high pressure, but is expected to be affected by a pressure trough and cold air. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting northerly winds, cloudy, sometimes sunny, with a daytime high of 3 °C for northern Nagano Prefecture. The temperature at Hakuba (elevation 703 m) is -5.2 °C (as of 5:00).
