Alpine Fair Strong winds and snow in the alpine are making for continued windslab development on lee slopes.
Treeline Good The tree-line elevation can be tricky because it may seem a bit more protected, but is a place where windslab can still develop quite fast. Assessment of windslab development is advised as you move around through different terrain and aspects at tree line.
Below Treeline Good Watch for fast moving loose dry snow on steep sheltered slopes in the trees.

Take care when traveling in poor visibility for the hazards that may be above you and for cornices at ridge tops that may be easy to collapse and hard to see. Travel in the alpine will need extra caution and assessment for windslab development on lee slopes. As always, take care in creek exits and the steep sheltered slopes around them. Practice with the tools you have to stay oriented to your surroundings. Gps, map and compass or a conversation with your riding partner about visual observations can be helpful.
Continued snow and wind for loading on lee slopes and the development of windslab especially in the alpine and tree-line elevation bands.
Loose dry will be a concern below tree line and especially on steep sheltered terrain.
Rider triggered wind slab avalanches have been observed on lee aspects where fresh wind slab has developed and is sensitive.
With continued strong winds and snow in most of the forecast region the upper snow pack will need assessment to see how stiff of a slab the wind has created and how well that slab is bonded to the snow below. The windslab can be shallow in places and then deeper in others depending on how much snow was deposited from the wind.
Today will remain strong northwest winds and steady precipitation and temperatures well below freezing. A switch in wind direction is forecasted to take place after the weekend to come from more the north and the precipitation should start to tapper off next week with calmer winds and temperatures well below freezing.
