Be careful to induce storm slabs on extremely steep slopes at higher elevations where bonding is difficult to progress. Pay attention to group management, such as making sure other skiers are not on slopes above or below you. Sunny skies are forecast during the day. Please be aware of the possibility of loose snow avalanches from large south-facing steep slopes. There are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep streams, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase damage even if the size of the generated avalanche is small. Care should also be taken to avoid falling into gully.
Beware of extremely steep slopes in the higher elevation zones.
Yesterday (12th) there were reports of several small human-triggered loose snow avalanches on extremely steep slopes, and two days ago there were several human-triggered slab avalanches of size 1-2 on steep and extremely steep slopes from north to east.
The surface hoar observed extensively on the 9th has buried about 30-40 cm in the lower part, but bonding is progressing, but caution should be exercised in bonding due to the lack of information on north-facing slopes, which are less affected by sunny slopes. No vulnerability in the middle to lower layers of snow cover has been reported.
As of 4:00, the temperature at Ameda Fujiwara is -8.1°C. No snowfall in the past 24 hours. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting clear skies due to high pressure.
