Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are forecast during the day. Watch for loose snow avalanches from large, steep south-facing slopes and glide avalanches from cliff-like areas and open glide cracks in the lower elevation zones. Move quickly at the bottom of such areas. Be careful of falling into gully.

Yesterday (14th), there were reports of multiple observations of naturally occurring wet avalanche size 1 avalanches on steep slopes in full sunlight.
The snow cover surface is melt-frozen during the day except on slopes directly north at higher elevations. In the lower elevations, crust intensity is weak due to low nighttime cooling. Vulnerability of the middle to lower layers of the snowpack has not been reported.
As of 4:00 pm, the temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara is -1.1°C. There has been no snowfall in the past 24 hours, and the cold nighttime temperatures are weak. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting clear skies and cloudy skies in the foothills of northern Gunma Prefecture with rain late in the evening as a cold front extending from a low-pressure system moves southward from the Sea of Japan to the main island of Japan.
