As cold nighttime conditions continue to be weak at lower elevations, be aware of the potential for glide avalanches from open cracks and cliff-like steep slopes. Also watch for the possibility of loose snow avalanches from large southerly steep slopes. We recommend that you do not enter or quickly pass through the lower part of such areas or the gully bottom. Be careful not to fall into gully. Temperatures are forecast to rise. The avalanche danger level will change from "Low Low" to "High High" depending on daytime temperatures and solar radiation. It is recommended that you finish your activities before the crust melts and the snowpack loses strength due to the effects of solar radiation and rising temperatures.
Be careful of open cracks and cliff-like slopes.
Beware of large steep slopes that tend to increase in size when an avalanche occurs due to the amount of snow that is entrained.
No information available as there were not many people who entered the mountain yesterday (19th).
Crusts have formed due to the rainfall on the 15th, and there is a thin layer of snowfall on top of the crusts from the strong northerly winds, but bonding is good. Areas prone to wind have been blown away, exposing the crusts. No vulnerability is reported in the middle to lower layers of the snowpack. At lower elevations, the lower part of the snowpack is wet and losing strength due to three days of cold nighttime conditions.
As of 4:00, the temperature at Amedas Fujiwara is 3.1°C. No snowfall in the past three days. The weather service is forecasting cloudy skies and rain late in the evening due to a front and moist air.
