On large open slopes that already have glide cracks, the potential for a large scale glide avalanche is high. Slush could also occur, depending on the amount of future rainfall. Slush is an avalanche in which the snow is saturated with water, so it can occur even on loose slopes and flow down farther. It is such a dangerous day in gully and other areas. Think carefully about the terrain you are in and the characteristics of the slope above you. Remember, too, that even if the rain stops after this, the danger will continue for some time.

Avalanche
Several size 1-2 glide avalanches were observed yesterday (19th). Few people entered the mountain and information is limited.
Snowpack
Due to the high daily temperatures, the snow surface layer at lower elevations is well wet. Currently, warm air is entering the area with the approaching front, and positive temperatures have been continuing since last night even at higher elevations. There is a possibility of temporarily intensified precipitation, further increasing the risk of glide avalanches.
Weather
The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting westerly winds, slightly strong, then northerly winds, rain, occasionally cloudy, with a daytime high of 9 °C (13 m elevation) for the Joetsu region of Niigata Prefecture. At Sasagamine, Myoko (elevation 1,310 m), the temperature is 5 °C (as of 4:45 a.m.).
