Due to the ongoing cold nighttime temperatures and rainfall conditions at lower elevations, be aware of the possibility of glide avalanches from open cracks and steep, cliff-like slopes. We recommend that you stay clear of the lower part of such areas and the gully bottom, or pass through them quickly. As of 5:00 am, rain is falling at the foot of the mountain, but at higher elevations it is expected to snow in the morning. Please be aware of the snowfall and bonding of old snow.
Watch out for open cracks and steep, cliff-like slopes.
Beware of new snowfall and bonding of old snow on steep slopes.
No information available as there were not many people who entered the mountain yesterday (21st).
The snow surface is wet from yesterday's rainfall and is expected to be frozen in the upper areas from around 1600m elevation, with a thin layer of new snowfall beginning to be placed on top of it. There are no reports of vulnerability in the middle to lower layers of the snowpack. At lower elevations, the snow cover is wet and losing strength due to the five-day period of cold nighttime temperatures and heavy rainfall.
As of 5:00, the temperature at Amedas Fujiwara is 2.1°C. There has been 5 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours and rain is still falling now. The temperature is -3.8°C at an elevation of around 1,300 meters. The JMA is forecasting cloudy skies with occasional rain or snow until late afternoon due to the influence of a front and moist air.
