Travel and Terrain Advice

At higher elevations, watch for unstable snow remaining on certain terrain. Under a thin layer of fresh snow, icy snow surfaces are hidden, so be alert for slips and falls. Please set your routes carefully to avoid going into steep slopes. The heavy rainfall on the 21st has caused the snow to melt in the lower elevations. Some tour routes that are usually accessible are not available this year. Please plan carefully.

概要

Avalanche

No new avalanches were reported in mountain areas yesterday (23rd).

Snowpack

The snow cover surface layer is a hard, Melt-Freeze layer with about 15-20 cm of fresh snow on top of the hard, Melt-Freeze layer. No significant vulnerability at this interface has been reported to date. On the other hand, at lower elevations, the lower part of the Melt-Freeze layer is still wet from the rain.
