Alpine Fair Watch for snowfall in the afternoon.
Treeline Good Watch for snowfall in the afternoon.
Below Treeline Fair Note the movement of glide cracks.
信頼度:○ good □ Fair △ Low
The cold temperatures of the past few days have resulted in freezing at lower elevations, but there may still be residual effects from rainfall below the snowpack. Be aware of the possibility of glide avalanches from open cracks and steep, cliff-like slopes. We recommend that you stay clear of the lower part of such areas and the gully bottom, or pass through them quickly. Be careful of falling into gully as well.
Watch out for open glide cracks and steep cliff-like slopes.
No reports of new avalanches observed yesterday (24th).
The crust in the upper part of the snowpack formed by the recent rainfall is gradually strengthening, and bonding is good with about 5-10 cm of past stormy snowfall on top of it. No significant weakness in the middle to lower layers of the snowpack has been reported. Crusts are forming on the surface even at lower elevations, but the lower part of the snowpack is expected to be wet and weak.
As of 5:00, the temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara is -1.9°C. No new snowfall in the past 24 hours. The JMA is forecasting cloudy skies with snow or rain before noon as a low pressure system moves east-northeast over southern Japan.
