Note the bonding of wind slabs that remain localized on extremely steep slopes. Note that bonding is less likely to progress at higher elevations. Be aware of collapsing snow shelters as well. Even if the avalanche size is small, there are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep streams, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase the damage. Care must also be taken to avoid falling into gully. Also, please be mindful of group management to ensure that other skiers are not above or below you. The forecast is for clear skies during the day. Be aware of the possibility of loose snow avalanches from large, steep, southerly slopes that are susceptible to solar radiation.
極端な急斜面に注意
Beware of large, extremely steep slopes that increase the size of avalanches that occur.
Yesterday (14th), there were reports of multiple naturally occurring loose snow avalanches size 1.5-2 and many point avalanches size 1-2 on extremely steep slopes from the southeast to the south.
Past stormy snowfall has been settling and bonding is coming up. Areas that were strongly affected by yesterday's warming and solar radiation are expected to have crusted surfaces, with a thin layer of last night's snowfall on top of them. There are no reports of significant fragility within the snowpack.
As of 4:00 pm, the temperature at Amedas Fujiwara is -1.8°C. There has been 1 cm of snowfall in the past 12 hours. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting generally clear skies due to high pressure.
