Travel and Terrain Advice

Dangerous avalanche conditions due to heavy snowfall. Watch out for storm slabs on steep slopes. Be careful of triggering in areas with sudden slope changes or in open areas with few trees. It is recommended that you stay in areas of tree line with slopes of slopes that are slower. Be aware of the presence of large start zones overhead even if you yourself are in an area with a low slope. Even if the avalanche is small in size, there are exposed "terrain traps" such as deep streams, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber that can increase the damage. Care should also be taken to avoid falling into gully. A winter pressure pattern is forecast to continue. Please act with caution to watch for future increases in snowfall and changes due to wind effects.
