The current spring diurnal cycle means that hazard increases through the day as temperatures rise. Be cautious if conditions have warmed up to the point that the surface snow is slow and unsupportive. This indicates that the snowpack is losing cohesion and prone to failure. It is a good time of year to start early and finish early.
Wet loose avalanche activity can be expected on steep slopes as temperatures rise during the day.

A spring diurnal cycle has taken hold with good overnight re-freezing occuring as a result of the clear skies. North aspects at high elevations are mostly wind scoured while solar aspects and lower elevations are experience a daily melt freeze cycle. Pockets of windslab may still exist at higher elevations on sheltered slopes. The lower pack is well settled.
Clear skies, moderate North winds with a high of 5C in the valley is expected today (Tuesday). Overnight will see valley temperatures drop to -6C. Similar weather is expected tomorrow with a high of +7C in the valley and slightly stronger North winds.
