Travel and Terrain Advice

At higher elevations, where snow bonding is less likely to progress, watch out for wind slabs on steep slopes just below the ridge and branch ridges. Be careful of glide cracks on steep slopes, which are thinly concealed in some places, and beware of falls. At lower elevations, watch for falls into gully holes. Snowfall is still continuing. Please be aware of changes in snow cover conditions due to snowfall amounts and winds.

概要

Avalanche

No reports of new avalanche bulletins observed, but little information is available.

Snowpack

There was about 80 cm of stormy snowfall up to the morning of the 1st near 1400 m. However, bonding at the boundary with the old snow and within the snowfall was good, and there are no reports of significant vulnerability being observed.

Weather

As of 4:00 pm, about 1-2 cm of snow has fallen in the past 12 hours in the area around AMeDAS Fujiwara. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting cloudy and sometimes sunny skies in northern Gunma Prefecture due to a high-pressure system, but subject to the influence of a pressure trough and moist air.
