Below Treeline Good Keep in mind solar radiation and temperature rise

It will be a great day for mountain skiing. One thing to watch out for is the change in intensity of the slabs that have formed on very steep slopes that are highly affected by solar radiation. Pleasant powder snow can be enjoyed on slopes unaffected by wind. Be aware that glide cracks have formed in various places in the treeline and below treeline, which are hidden by new snow. Even if you feel that the snow is stable, continue to follow the principled behavior of stopping in a safe spot. Making such behavior a habit will make accidents smaller in the event of an emergency. Have a good day.
Note the change in hardness of slabs on very steep slopes that are highly affected by solar radiation.
Watch out for unstable snow remaining on extreme terrain.
Yesterday (18th), a size 1 storm slab avalanche occurred on ski cuts in very extreme terrain. In addition, a size 3 avalanche was observed on the eastern slope of the below treeline that appears to have occurred within the past 12 hours, retroactive to yesterday.
The snow from the previous stormy weather has been sintering and strengthening. To the north, the snow is well dry, while to the south, it has become wetter due to yesterday's clear skies. No distinct instability is reported to be observed at the treeline and below treeline.
The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting southerly winds, daytime and northerly winds, clear skies, mornings and evenings, cloudy skies, and daytime high temperatures of 11 °C (13 m elevation) for the Joetsu region of Niigata Prefecture. At Sasagamine, Myoko (elevation 1,310 m), the temperature is -4 °C (as of 4:45 a.m.), with no new snowfall in the past 12 hours.
