Continue to show caution around ridgeline across easterly aspects as pockets of wind slab remain and appear active. Variable conditions remain at lower elevations as the latest warming trend has created a crust on all aspects. This curst is has increased thinness on southerly aspects. Glide cracks are open and appear to be growing which leads to great uncertainty and therefore they should be avoided.
Isolated pockets of wind slab remain at upper elevations around ridgeline across easterly aspects.
Temperatures are likely to rise again today above freezing at lower elevations. This increase will promote wet loose activity in the heat of the day on steep terrain.
Wet loose activity was reported up to size 1 on southerly aspects on the 20th below 600m. A possible skier triggered wind slab was observed from a distance on a southerly aspect at 900m on Chisenupuri also on the 20th.
Surface crust have formed on all elevations below 500m due to the rise in temperatures over the previous few days. This warming has also helped to settle the snow pack and promote bonding. The mod and lower snowpack is well consolidated and dormant at present.
Temperatures at lower elevations will again rise above freezing as the southerly air flow continues. We can expect moderate winds with the chance of some light snow flurries later in the day.
