Beware of inducing storm slabs on steep slopes due to heavy snowfall. We recommend that you stay on the ridge or at slopes with slopes in the forest. Be aware of the presence of large avalanche start zones overhead, even if you are on a loose slope yourself. When regrouping after skiing, try to leave the avalanche terrain and regroup in the safest place possible, such as on the ridge top. Be aware of other groups above and below you. Snowfall is forecast to continue. Please be aware of increasing snowfall and wind effects.
It is recommended to stay on the gentle slopes of the tree line.
No new avalanches were reported yesterday (4th), but there was a report of an avalanche (size 1.5) observed on the 3rd by a wind slab.
Snowfall since yesterday is more than 60 cm at around 1300 m elevation. The low-density, large-grained snowfall has been buried by this snowfall, and bonding should be noted. On the southerly slopes, the snow surface has melted and crusts are buried.
As of 6:00 am, the temperature at Amedas Fujiwara is -5.7°C. 32 cm of snow has fallen in the past 24 hours, and snowfall is still continuing. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting a strong winter pressure pattern, with cloudy skies and snow in the foothills of northern Gunma Prefecture in the late evening, accompanied by thunderstorms in the evening, due to the influence of a pressure trough and cold air.
