At higher elevations, watch out for wind slabs that form in terrain pockets. Underneath the slab is a hard snow surface, so even a small avalanche can cause a slip and fall hazard. A hard, rough snow surface is hidden under the new snow. It is easy to fall down, so please ski carefully. When passing under glide cracks, please move quickly and keep a good distance from your companions. Even if the likelihood of occurrence is low, hitting a snow block can have serious consequences.
Watch out for wind slabs forming in very steep terrain pockets.
Beware of collapsing snow blocks that remain in extreme terrain.
No new avalanches were reported yesterday (30th).
Over the past two days, only at higher elevations, there has been a weak snowfall, with about 10 cm of new snow. This new snow was moved yesterday by relatively strong westerly or northerly winds, forming thin wind slabs. Hard snow surfaces are exposed on wind-beaten ridges and slopes, and slabs are present in terrain pockets.
