Travel and Terrain Advice
It's a good time for winter, so you can still enjoy good lines in the backcountry with sufficiently dry snow. New snowfall is forecast for the second half of the week, so during the current mild weather conditions, it's a good idea to stretch out to a new place for you. Good lines can still be found in the backcountry as we experience a relatively dry period of the Winter. Further snowfall is expected during the week however now is a good time to explore new terrain under calm weather conditions.
Avalanche Problem
点発生乾雪雪崩 Dry Loose snow
人間一人の足元を掬う程度の点発生雪崩が、とても急な地形ではありえます。地形選択の際、このことを考慮してください。A single person may be able to disrupt enough loose dry snow in very steep terrain to be knocked off your feet. Consider the consequence of this when making your terrain choices.
概要
Avalanche
There are no reports of the new avalanche observed in the region. No new avalanche activity has been reported across the region.
Snowpack
The snow in the stormy weather that was there last week is weak, and the amount of movement is small, and the snow cover has been stable for the past few days. The new instability may come with the next heavy snowfall. With little in the way of snow accumulation over the last week combined with low winds, The snowpack has remained stable and unchanged for multiple days. Little in the Way of Instability can be found as we wait for further snowfall.
Weather
The northerly winds have subsided, and mild weather is forecast to continue until the middle of the week. When the wind direction changes to the west, it is a sign that a new snowfall will begin, and it will change for this weekend. Continued settled weather with the occasional snow flurry and low Northerly winds are expected through the midweek. These conditions are expected to change towards the weekend as a shift in wind direction to the West will bring new snowfall and higher precip totals.
