Even if the likelihood of an avalanche is low, prolonged exposure to the hazard (avalanche terrain) will increase the avalanche risk. Even if the avalanche is small, the presence of a "terrain trap" will increase avalanche risk. Currently, visibility conditions are very poor at high elevations. In these conditions, it is difficult to recognize whether you are in avalanche terrain or whether there is a "terrain trap" below you. Be sure to have good communication with your companions to assess the situation. Also, as the snow continues to melt, dirt and other debris within the snowpack will rise to the surface, making it more difficult to ski in some areas. An unexpected fall can cause all kinds of trouble, so please ski carefully.
Even though the rain has stopped, high temperatures continue to melt snow at the bottom of the snowpack. Watch out for slopes with glide cracks.
Ratings are as of the morning.
Yesterday (3rd), there were few people entering the mountain and no new avalanches were reported.
Rainfall began around noon yesterday (the 3rd), and by this morning, about 30 mm had fallen. On slopes with open glide cracks, the rain is flowing through the cracks and melting the bottom of the snowpack. In addition, positive temperatures have been observed on the main ridge since yesterday afternoon.
