Below Treeline Fair With day time warming snow softens could become reactive where the sun shines directly onto snow.

Fair weather makes people bolder. Continue to have caution. Remember to watch out for early season hazards. The brush is still thick in many areas and the creeks open and hard to travel in specially in the Yoichi areas. Know that if you trigger even a small avalanche it can sweep you into trees creeks or burry you deep in a gully
Significant continued snow in the last 24 hours maintains the possibility of storm slabs. This problem exists more in the Niseko area and less in Yoichi and surrounding mountains in the north
Ridge top winds were strong enough last night to transport snow onto lee aspects. Mountain winds swirl and wind slaps maybe found on any aspect tree line areas
Shiribetsu: Skier triggered S12 SS observed in South bowl. Moiwa Back bowl Size 1 SS Skier triggered Storm slab in same spot as last week in Moiwa back bowls. , : Natural S1 LD & skier triggered S1.5 WS, Moiwa bowl SE face 38 degrees, over convex. :
Kutchan reported 12cm 24 hour new snow this early morning. Moderate NW Winds on top Annupuri were gusting to 18 meters per second around midnight and have since turned more from the NNW and have dropped to light at 10 meters per second. Near and above tree line expect NW facing slopes to be rimed and wind scoured with wind loaded snow on SE and lee slopes. Pockets of new formed windslab and and wide spread storm slab are likely to be triggered by skiers and riders on steep slopes above 35 degree slopes. The lower snow pack continues to gain strength and there are no weak layers reported deep in the snow pack. As the snow pack becomes more bonded it is beginning to glide down hill opening glide cracks and could fail at the ground. Melt freeze crusts reported on SE and SW BTL under 15-20cm New snow
Clear to partly cloudy skies this morning. Increasing clouds in the afternoon with snow returning tonight. Light NNW winds. More clouds with snow showers Yoichi area while with more sun and little to no snow in the Niseko area. Air temperatures will remain well below freezing throughout the forecast area. Sun shine will rapidly warm the snow on roads and warm the surface snow at the lower elevations.
