Below Treeline Fair Degree of influence of solar radiation

Stormy weather instability is rapidly dissipating. However, at higher elevations, conditions are still not quite reassuring enough, so avoid large convex slopes or extreme terrain shapes. Choose simple terrain that is not affected by the winds that have been blowing and that has no "terrain traps" below, and you will enjoy a comfortable run. At lower elevations below the treeline, numerous glide cracks have formed and are hidden by fresh snow. There are crusts on the southern slopes, so ski at a controlled speed. Even if you feel the snowpack is stable, please continue to follow the principle of stopping in safe areas and skiing one at a time. Have a good day.
Watch out for wind slabs that remain in localized areas of extreme terrain.
A size 1 wind slab avalanche was observed yesterday (11th) on the leeward slope of the treeline. A size 2 slab avalanche was also reported, which appeared to have occurred within the past 24 hours. On the other hand, a number of size 1 loose snow avalanches were observed in the afternoon on steep, sun-exposed slopes below treeline.
Stormy snow from January 6 settled rapidly yesterday (January 11) due to clear skies and solar radiation. At lower elevations than the treeline, crusts have formed on the steep south-facing slopes. On shaded slopes to the north, the snow remains dry. The winds on the main ridge line also subsided before noon yesterday and have dropped to a few meters as of 5:00 this morning. Observations below treeline have not revealed any major problems at the boundary between storm snow and old snow.
The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting southerly winds, later northerly winds, cloudy, sometimes sunny, with a daytime high of 6 °C (418 m elevation) for northern Nagano Prefecture. At Amedas Hakuba (elevation 703 m), the temperature is -9.2 °C (as of 5:00), and there has been no new snowfall in the past 12 hours.
