Alpine Low Wind effects unknown
Treeline Fair
Below Treeline Fair Uncertainty in the movement of glide avalanches.
信頼度:○ good □ Fair △ Low
Be aware of open glide cracks and the possibility of glide avalanches from cliff-like slopes. Do not enter or quickly pass through the lower part of such slopes. Be aware of bonding on higher elevation ridges and just below branch ridges, where localized wind slabs may have formed. When regrouping after skiing, try to remove avalanche terrain and regroup in the safest place possible, such as on top of a ridge. Snow is forecast from mid-afternoon. Please be aware of changes in the amount of snowfall and wind effects in the coming days.
Watch out for glide cracks and cliff-like slopes.
Watch out for steep slopes just below the ridge line
Yesterday (24th), several glide avalanches were observed on southerly slopes below 1200 m elevation that occurred within the past 24 hours.
The upper layer of snow cover is settling and bonding is rising. The upper layer of the snowpack has been settling and binding is rising. In the Kagura area, low-density snow and a strong temperature gradient are observed on the boundary with the old snow, and further bonding should be monitored. The old snow on the southerly slopes is crusted. There are no reports of observed fragility from the middle to lower snowpack. Glide crack movement and glide avalanches have been observed on the steep southerly slopes.
As of 4:00 pm, the temperature at AMeDAS Fujiwara is 0.0°C. No new snowfall, and the cold nighttime temperatures are weak. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting cloudy and sometimes sunny skies in the foothills of northern Gunma Prefecture, with some snow showers in the afternoon, due to the influence of cold and moist air in the sky, although high pressure is expected to prevail.
